Fanart Funtimes

There's a webcomic site that a lot of my friends and I have been really into lately called mspaintadventures.

It's a long read, but really interesting, so if you need a way to pass some time I recommend it.

Anyway, been drawing some fan art of it with my friends. There's one character in particular that I really like, so I've done some digital art of him for the fun of it:

Some people may say fan art is a waste of time, but I think it's a great way to practice.

Jaguar Painting

Here's a painting I did of a jaguar for fun. I started out thinking I was going to do it in an Aztec style but.. I just went kind of crazy with it. That's the cool part about painting just for fun, going crazy.

The colors look a little strange... that's because I actually painted this with blacklight paint. Unfortunately, my camera is broken and I don't know when I'll get a new one, so I can't get a good photo of it glowing.

This is all I can manage:

If I ever can get a good photo of the whole thing glowing, I'll put it up.

Old Paintings

Going to go ahead and put some more old stuff up here, otherwise I'll forget and lose track of my old files again.

These are paintings that I did throughout my highschool years. They were done with acrylic paints, and are listed chronologically... as far as I can remember, at least:

The below painting was for a class. The subject matter is my own interpretation of Quetzalcoatl, an Aztec creation deity. It's hard to tell, but these paintings were over 20 square feet in surface area:
The final painting is different from the others as it was made with india ink and a little bit of watercolor:

I'm working on scanning some newer paintings at the moment. I finally have my own scanner, and I'm pretty happy about that!

Old Projects

I was organizing some of my folders and found a bunch of older school projects. Might as well throw everything I can on here!

If you're a relative of mine reading this, you should definitely completely ignore the timestamp on this post:
This was a design for a class I took freshman year.

The phoenix above I drew with a marker and scanned, the rest I added on using my tablet.

Another random thing from freshman year. This one's from sophomore year. We were supposed to make a tattoo design in Adobe Illustrator. Mine was some kind of Aztec jaguar snake thing.

Another one from sophomore year. I had to illustrate a "Florida panther." It also had to be drawn in chalk pastel, which I am soooooo bad atttttt.

SELF PORTRAY

For illustration class semester we're supposed to keep a sketchbook, and do drawings based on a different theme every week. The first theme was to draw yourself in whatever style you wished, as long as you did not look at a mirror or photo while doing so.

Naturally, mine turned out pretty dang silly. That's just how I am:

A Sharpie Died for this Post

There's a bit of a story behind this post. It feels a little weird to say publicly on the internet, but I honestly think giving the background for these makes them a lot more interesting than they would be otherwise.

One day I was having a bad panic attack, and I decided to try and work through it by drawing as quickly as I could without thinking about what I was drawing at all until I felt back to normal. Here's what came out of that, in chronological order:

More Doodles Because That's How I Do

I'm just gonna put the rest of what I have laying around in my "doodles" folder on here. Why not!

So here we go.

First is a drawing of my two cats, Sputnik and El Cid. This is a pretty accurate representation of their daily interactions:

The rest of these are pretty random, and huuuuge and long:
